The Smart Womens Recording Club

This site is for smart and savvy female singers and musicians

New May 23rd

Smart Womens Recording Club

presents …… Tea and Tunes

Everyone loves the workshops but says there isnt enough time to talk to the other people they meet.

SO here it is…. the first Smart Recording tea and tunes party  -

Funny how often singers and musicians can love being on stage in front of a crowd – but get very shy in a room with some strangers.

This event wont be like that !

Leave your preconceptions at the door.

come for a cuppa, a natter,  get some new information.

meet some smart musical women like you, and swap some info, make some new musical allies

and if you fancy, bring one of your tunes to play on the studio speakers.

Bring a friendly attitude and expect to give as well as get

May 23rd 6-8pm free but booking essential  get your ticket here

this event is for women – but there will be a mixed tea party coming soon x

Thanks so much, Felix. What you’ve done with bits and pieces of our singing is marvellous! Thanks again for taking the time to teach us the technicalities. Archana J

Thanks for sending the track and producing it. Just shows what you can do in a few hours with and expert musical extraudinaire! I really like the jargon free attitude of the workshop, so accessible! Rea Quinta

I found It was good to meet some other female musicians and to get a refresher on a recording studio set up and workings in relaxed welcoming surroundings.
I think it’s really great that you are helping to give women musicians more confidence in the recording studio.
I’d definitely recommend the Smart Women’s Recording Club to other female musicians. Zoe

I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and was amazed at how much ground was covered in such a short space of time. You’ve inspired me to take a serious look at Music Production as a career.” Janine

“It was really great to get our hands on the equipment and fun working together to lay down a track. I really appreciated the freedom to ask questions and have things explained without feeling stupid about it.”

Brooke

“Thanks again for being friendly and knowledgeable and patient and cool and giving up your free time. It was appreciated.”

Jon (mixed workshop jan2011)

I didn’t once feel like I couldn’t ask a question or be honest and say I didn’t understand, as all too often has been the case in studios!!

Gemma  (women only workshop  jan 2011)

‘The Smart Musician’s Guide to the Recording Studio’ is a must for anyone who’s interested in singing and / or music for a career.  It takes away the fears, lack of knowledge and isolation and replaces them with new skills, knowledge and confidence in a very supportive learning environment. Let this workshop be the start of turning your dreams into reality!

Erin (mixedworkshop  feb 2011)

In my opinion every musician should know how a studio works. It can really helps on his performance. And it’s exactly the purpose of this workshop: turn the studio into a familiar environment. And even if you are already familiar with this place, you can always learn something new and meet interesting people.

None of the equipment was ‘out of bounds’ and we were all encouraged to get stuck in. Very impressed by the supportive vibe despite there being so many experienced performers in the group. Highly recommended.

Felix’s workshop was fun and inspirational. It’s exciting to see women feel free enough to be openly inquisitive and confident to explore the studio environment.

  2. The workshop was amazing!! I’ll never again have to ask someone to help me set up my own PA system and I’ve got a much better idea of how a studio works. Felix is wonderful and I can’t believe how much I learnt in just two hours, brilliant!
